Today I have a healthy, super easy recipe for you that’s delicious and fantastic to have available.

Energy balls are super easy to make…

They are great for a pre or post workout snack, afterschool snack , travel snack, or even for your teenagers to grab for breakfast on their way out the door!

It’s proof that you can enjoy your snacks while eating a “clean” and healthy diet.

The bonus of providing  healthy snacks to your kids is that they will learn to enjoy healthy foods.

Having healthy snacks  available for yourself  is that you will feel great enjoying them too…

Instead of feeling weighed down and blah…

You will feel great and totally satisfied after indulging in this simple gulit free snack.

This recipe literally comes together so easily. 

If you are not a fan of healthy snacks… you might be  converted here. The energy balls are a perfect combination of sweet and salty, and are of course super yummy.

 

 

 

Healthy, Easy Energy Balls

 

Ingredients

1/2 cup almond butter

2 tablespoons oat flour

2 tablespoons ground flax

3-4 tablespoons raw honey

1/2  cup gluten-free oats

1 cup of healthy granola

 

 

Directions:

  1.  Line a baking sheet with  parchment paper.
  2.  Place almond butter in a microwave safe bowl and microwave for 45 seconds to soften it.
  3. Add the flax and oat flour, mix to combine.
  4. Mix in raw honey.
  5. Once mixed, add the oats and mix u til all ingredients are combined.
  6. Place 1 cup of granola on a plate.
  7. Remove a tablespoon of the mixture and with wet hands and roll it into a ball.
  8. Roll each ball in the granola topping to coat it.
  9. Once coated, place on prepared baking sheet.
  10. Continue with the remaining mixture.
  11. Place all the coated balls in an air tight container and store in the refrigerator.

I used Bob’s red mill oats, oat flour, granola, flax and hemp hearts to develop this recipe

I always use Justin’s nut butter

 

Substitutions:

1.  You can always substitute silan or maple syrup for raw honey.

2.  You can substitute hemp hearts for ground flax.

3.  You can coat with shredded coconut, nuts or dark chocolate instead of granola

4.  You can use any type of nut butter… even sunbutter if you have nut allergy
